At goodreads about an hour ago it seems a email marketer (see: spammer) from the company Buzz.io Tried to send some 300000 goodreads invite emails to an account (now deleted).
Looks like the name of the guy is Danny Villarreal, who uses the emails cari@buzz.io, zarbees@gmail.com, and buzz@zarbees.com. Unfortuntunately some of those emails did successfully go through our system, and Goodreads is definitely sorry about anyone who got a fraudulent invite email from this guy.

Thanks for the blog post - I thought we would take a second to explain our position. We are a real company and not an intentional spammer. We are a small company but we have a passionate following. What we were trying to do was connect with our customers who are already on goodreads to talk about books we would all have in common. Particularly books about the benefits of dark honey. Sounds weird but there are books on this subject and it is something we are all passionate about.
Apparently, we sent out an invite email to our entire address book when all we wanted to do was see if some of those people were using goodreads. The truth is the first time we realized this had happened was when I saw your blog.
If we have been kicked off permanently then the punishment certainly fits the crime, but I just wanted to make sure you knew we aren't your typical "spammer" we just made a mistake.
BTW - we all have personal goodreads accounts and LOVE IT! great service.
